Secretariat’s Triple Crown

Secretariat's Triple Crown

Secretariat’s Triple Crown trophy in Saratoga, NY, at the Racing Hall of Fame.
Will we ever see another Triple Crown winner? Much has been said about breeding lately for speed, not endurance. People say horses are weaker and more fragile these days. Trainers are easier on the horses because they are very fragile animals despite their size. I am inclined to agree when I see the exhaustion at the end of the long Triple Crown races. Perhaps if they shorten the races and/or space them out more, we’d have another Triple winner. But, as it stands, I don’t think any horse on earth is strong enough to win all three races. Not even California Chrome. Sorry, folks. 🙂

EDIT: Wow, was I wrong!!! I’m really glad I was, though!
